What has practising mindfulness taught me?

Updated: Oct 21

Practising mindfulness has taught me to acknowledge and accept my feelings. When we feel down, we are often encouraged to just 'feel better' or 'overcome' our emotions, so our focus shifts to trying to improve our mood rather than truly experiencing and understanding our emotions.

Seeing things for the way they are is the path to true emotional freedom!

And this resistance causes more despair and a further delay in feeling better, which is the ultimate goal.

Instead, it's better to acknowledge the negative feeling, experience it and process it healthily. Then, you will automatically start to feel better. Seeing things for the way they are is the path to true emotional freedom!
